Concept

The VITENSO Health Center in Darmstadt has a fitness center on the ground floor and a physical therapy practice on the first floor. A service provider will be fully responsible for both.

There is no successor program to Fit@Merck. It is important to us here at the Darmstadt location to ensure access to care for everyone who needs it quickly, who wants to start physical therapy quickly and easily, and at the same time to maintain a close connection to fitness.

The VITENSO Health Center is open to all employees with a current employment contract. Including:

  • Active Merck employees
  • Merck employees as day visitors
  • Long-term account savers
  • Employees on “garden leave” (in relation to leave of absence)
  • Women on maternity leave
  • Employees on parental leave (with or without part-time in DC)
  • Employees on sabbatical
  • Employees on secondment (expat)
  • Employees on long-term sick leave

Opening hours

The opening hours are as follows:

  • Monday 08:00 – 21:00
  • Tuesday 06:00 – 21:00
  • Wednesday 06:00 – 21:00
  • Thursday 06:00 – 21:00
  • Friday 08:00 – 20:00
  • Saturday 09:00 – 15:00
  • Closed on Sundays

On holidays, we are open according to the posted schedule.

Classes are offered in the early morning, at lunchtime, and in the late afternoon/evening.

Course offer

The Health Center offers a wide variety of courses. Course content varies and is always based on current trends. If you have any requests or suggestions, please contact the Health Center staff.

The following courses, among others, are offered at the Health Center:

  • Classic prevention courses, e.g. back exercises, Pilates, functional gymnastics
  • Trend sports courses
  • Mental balance programmes
  • Relaxation room / power napping
  • Counselling options
As soon as you become a member of the gym, you’ll get access to the online platform, where you can easily sign up for classes.

There are course times tailored to specific target groups (before or after work, during lunch breaks, or at shift changes) that are open to all employees. Thanks to the wide range of courses offered, each employee can choose the one that best suits their needs.

The individual course sizes can vary depending on the course.
The course rooms are generally designed for approx. 15-20 people.

You have the option to work out not only at our location but also at Fitness First partner studios throughout Germany. For an additional fee of €10 per month, you can use the Red Studios, while the Black Studios can be added for €20 per month.

No, the company medical department will remain in D44.

The company doctors are still located in D44; the Health Center is staffed exclusively by physical therapists.

Fitness area

These are health-promoting programs in general. In addition to the traditional gym, there are many preventive health classes, as well as access to physical therapy services.

Yes, there is a free-weight area. When classes are not in session, the classrooms can also be used for free training.

The entire fitness area covers an area of approximately 1,100 m².

In principle, you are welcome to come and train together and promote the Health Centre to your colleagues. However, the prerequisite for this is that they must be active employees.

Membership

The fitness area has the following pricing structures:

  • Employees 3 months: 49 € month
  • Employees 6 months: 44 € / month
  • Employee 12 months: 39 € / month
  • Trainee 3 months: 39 € / month
  • Trainee 6 months: 34 € / month
  • Trainee 12 months: € 29 / month

A one-off fee of €69 for the starter package is charged at the start of membership, regardless of the tariff model selected. This fee is waived if an existing membership from the former Body Culture studio network is transferred.

You have the option to work out not only at our location but also at Fitness First partner studios throughout Germany. In the field of physical therapy, you can receive treatment at a physical therapy practice through your public or private health insurance, with a prescription, or by paying out of pocket.

The Health Center and its fitness studio compete with other health and fitness centers in the Darmstadt area. Therefore, we must ensure that we do not set membership fees below a certain minimum level relative to the quality we offer.

All those who are insured with Merck BKK receive an additional discount on the membership fees.

Current members who wish to switch to the Merck BKK plan can complete the transfer directly at the office.

Yes, every employee can visit the Health Centre for a week on a trial basis and then decide whether or not to become a member.

The contributions must be paid separately and cannot be offset against the salary.

No, there will be no service charge. The monthly membership fee covers all costs.

Contract terms

Our Health Center at the gym offers various contract terms. These are currently 3, 6, and 12 months. Naturally, the membership fee varies depending on how short or long your contract is.

Of course, there is also the option of a one-off training session with a day pass.

The contract is entered into directly with us. Direct billing for the fee is not possible.

Miscellaneous

Day passes can be purchased at the Health Center. Please note that day passes are non-transferable and valid only on the day of purchase.
A large employee parking lot is available for parking.
Use of the fitness area or therapeutic treatments takes place during leisure time.
Each person can schedule their own training times. After consulting with the team and their supervisor, training can also be incorporated into work hours, provided that the work is made up later. Training does not count as work time.

Yes, the Health Center offers physical therapy with appointments available within 48 hours.

There is no sauna at the Health Center, but for an additional fee of €10, you can use the studio network, which gives you access to the saunas at the other studios.

The Training Island operates independently of the Health Center and is still available for booking.
