Three ways to solve back pain:

There are three quick ways to start your personalized physical therapy at the VITENSO Health Center

  1. With a prescription from a specialist
(regardless of whether you have public or private health insurance)
  2. If you pay for it yourself
    (e.g., through our Physio Check-Up)
  3. As initial prescription for acute problems
(via Merck company doctors: only for Merck BKK insured persons or privately insured persons)

Learn more about the three options

You obtain a prescription from your specialist (e.g., family doctor, orthopedist, dentist, etc.) for physiotherapy (KG), manual therapy (MT), or physiotherapy using equipment (KGG), for example, and it must be submitted to the VITENSO Health Center for treatment therapy within 28 days at the latest.

You can make an appointment for a physical check-up (20 or 40 minutes) at the VITENSO Health Center by calling 06151 / 70 79 242. The physical check-up is an individual examination and consultation to help you better understand your current physical condition.

If you are a member of Merck BKK, you can have the company doctors issue you with an initial prescription, which can be redeemed at the VITENSO Health Center just like a traditional prescription from a specialist. In principle, privately insured individuals can also have a prescription issued.

General information on prescriptions and cost coverage

Important additional information on the coverage of treatment costs for those with statutory health insurance through a doctor’s prescription In order to receive treatment at a physiotherapy practice (VITENSO Health Center), a doctor’s prescription is required. The prescription usually specifies the number of therapy sessions and the frequency. Appointments are generally scheduled once to three times a week, as directed by the doctor. Therapy must be started within 28 days of the prescription being issued, otherwise it will expire.

If urgent treatment is necessary, the prescription must indicate “urgency,” which means treatment within 14 days. A prescription loses its validity if treatment is interrupted for more than 14 days without justification. For each prescription, you must pay a co-payment of ten euros plus ten percent of the treatment costs, unless you are exempt from co-payments. Please ask at reception about the special conditions regarding co-payments for Merck BKK policyholders.

The costs for individual medical treatments vary. For example, if 30 euros are charged for a session, the co-payment for six sessions amounts to 28 euros (10 euros prescription fee plus 6 x 10% of the treatment costs = 3 euros). Physiotherapy prescribed by a doctor is usually covered by statutory health insurance, apart from the co-payment.
